Bio

Katryna-Florence has crafted an authentic sound that lives between pop and jazz, growing up on artists like Etta James, Celine Dion, and Lauryn Hill, before later finding inspiration in her contemporaries like Amy Winehouse, Adele, Lianne La Havas, and Yebba. This Berklee College of Music graduate bares her soul through soothing vocals, timeless melodies, and heartfelt lyrics.

Before falling in love with jazz at the age of 17, Montreal-born artist Katryna spent her formative years studying classical piano, cello, and opera. She later graduated from University of Montreal with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance. Her talent didn’t go unnoticed as she was invited to join renowned French composer and saxophonist Pierre Bertrand's Big Band for the summer of 2022. She performed as part of Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Randy Brecker’s opening act and sung alongside some of the finest jazz musicians from Europe and Cuba, such as Orlando “Maraca” Valle, Joël Chausse, Steen Nikolaj Hansen, and Stéphane Chausse, to name a few.

After her time at BerkleeNYC, Katryna-Florence received a full scholarship by We Are Moving The Needle to attend the Los Angeles Academy for Artists and Music Production (LAAMP) in Santa Monica, CA, an institution founded by the acclaimed songwriting and production duo Stargate (Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor E. Hermansen).

Prepare to be transported as she unveils songs from her debut EP, "Recollection", a project she wrote, co-produced, engineered, and recorded at New York City's legendary PowerStation Studios, along with singles made at LAAMP in Los Angeles.
